Pickets

Almost since we got here, there has been this project to construct and install a new fence around the Smith Family Cemetery.
Over the winter, the carpentry shop made about 2000 pickets.  Jared decided that Now is the time to paint them.
We had about 8 young sisters help us out today.
Yesterday we had about a dozen sisters.  You'll notice how close the pickets are on the table in front.  Jared sprayed one side and then we were supposed to turn them and spread them out so he could paint the other three sides.
Well, today a bunch of the pickets were stuck together.  I spent some time breaking them apart.  Then they had to be cleaned and sanded smooth so they could be painted again.
I don't know very many of the new sisters since I don't have the opportunity to work with them very often.
Sister Odum and Sister Taylor posing for a pic.  Sister Odum was "masking" and keeping her distance.
Tom loves working with the sisters.
Today Jared informed up that there are 13 bundles that have yet to be opening.  That's 1300 that haven't been touched.  On Mondays we do not have any YSMs so I don't know what will get accomplished as far as painting and assembling the fencing.  At least the process has begun.  I was hoping that I would see that fence installed before we leave in December.
