I have loved the group Alabama for a lot of years. They came to Green Bay in the early 90's and we were way too poor to go to their concert. I saw they were coming back and said I wanted to go so my sweetheart made it happen.
The warm up act was Exile and they were really good. I enjoyed the pieces of music that I recognized to much.
Alabama is not quite the same band as they used to be as Jeff has passed away and was replaced by an awesome fiddle player named Megan. Still, I was so looking forward to the concert.
As much as I love their music I was a bit disappointed because Randy Owen had the audience sing along a lot! I didn't come to hear the audience sing!
Some of the other members of the band sang some of their music and they did a fantastic job. They sang so Randy could go behind in the dark and sit on a chair. I understand he's had some health issues and probably needs to get off his feet. That didn't bother me.
His voice is getting old and of course doesn't sound like it did in the heyday of their group. I get that too. I didn't expect him to dance around the stage but I expected more than what I got. I think it was a reality check that we all age and things change. Not sure I'm ready for that.
