Pat's Birthday

This year for Patrick's birthday we did something different.  We went to Door County and rented a condo.  Before you say, "that's not new!" it is because we've never done a getaway for Pat's birthday.  We have a favorite place but it is quite expensive so we settled on a condo on the Bay side of the peninsula.
This is the view from our balcony.  On Friday morning the wind was blowing hard enough to cause white caps.  It was pretty, but cool.  We shopped at our favorite places and did some work at the building.  Then we went for a ride around the peninsula.  We stopped at some shops and found another Nativity.  It is beautiful and perfect.  I love it!
We can't go anywhere without the selfie.  We took this Saturday morning just before we left to come home.  The time there always goes by so fast.  We could sit in the condo and just do nothing or watch movies and we'd be perfectly happy.
Of all the condos we've rented, none of them look very different than the others.  But all of them are very inviting.
I love the fireplace.  It's gas and warm and cozy.  That's what I love about it.  We've finally figured out what kind of food we need to buy in order to make meals.  The dishes and cookware are all there but nothing else.
Pat has already asked if we can do this every year.  I guess it will depend on what else might be on the calendar and what the checkbook has to say.  I do love getting away even for just a day or two with my sweetheart.  He's my favorite guy!
